Butterflies symbolize significant change but still bears and carry the magnificent impression of transformation that leads them to be glorious and beautiful creature. Just like these butterflies, the province of Cotabato along with its tripeople citizens transforms. The different colors, variations, and forms of each butterfly represent the different cultures, lifestyles, and beliefs of the tri-people. However, despite the differences, they still chose to be united, and their antecedents were only one.
Way back in the later part of the 15th century, the religion “Islam” was introduced in the province of Cotabato. Later, it was followed by the birth of Christianity in 1596 and finally, it was tailed by the Lumads or the Indigenous people in 1986. These religions made a wonderful impact on the province of Cotabato. Just like the butterflies leaving their home, they still uphold and embrace the necessary traits, values, and cultures from where they’re from.
