Whether we agree or not, the past is the bridge to the present and the weapon to solve the problems of the future. My work reflects the face of our past ancestors who paved the way to connect us to our current success, gave a colorful economy, identity and independence to the Sarangans. MunaTo means “first people” the image of cultural heritage of Sarangani. Province’s dominant indigenous tribes, the B’laans, Tagakaolos, T’bolis and Maguindanawons whom are protected and supported by the local government of the province to ensure its perpetuation, so as not to lose the identity of the province. They are the face of the past, present and the future of locality and so my work is to show respect to the invisible rope that connects us to each other.
