Description:
“Garbo” is the title of my artwork. It is 20″ inches in height and 4″x4″ platform and is made of epoxy and urethane paint. The tribe people’s pride and identity are reflected in “Garbo”. The IP is often forgotten and disregarded in modern culture, which makes tribe members less proud of their heritage. By creating this artwork, I hope to inspire more pride in the tribal members and encourage them to embrace their unique identities. The woman is a representation of the tribe’s power and natural nurturing. The dress’s vibrant beadwork captures the true beauty of the tribe’s inhabitants. How colorful and varied they are. With this artwork, I also want to express my desire for society to accept and be in awe of the pride and beauty of our tribe’s members.
