Van is an Architect and Civil Engineer by profession from Digos City, Davao del Sur. Though born in Dumarao, Capiz, he considers himself a full pledged mindanaoan. To him, living here for 3 decades made him a Digosenio. His passion for art started during his childhood days watching and observing Ilonggo artists from Iloilo where he spent his grade school. Inspired and supported by his parents, he learns oil and watercolor from various artists now his 2 favorite media. The difficulty of watercolor made it more interesting and fun to paint. Creating pictures out of pigment and water is the closest thing to the so-called perfect happiness.
